There are 2 types of insomnia. Type 1 is where you can’t get to sleep and type 2 is when you wake up in the middle of the night and are unable to fall back to sleep.
Sleep deprivation can lead to so many different symptoms such as:
- brain fog
- lack of concentration
- emotional outbursts
- feeling irritable
- gastrointestinal problems
- daytime fatigue
- poor eating
- lower libido
As many as 1 in 3 people struggle to get a good nights sleep. We should be aiming for around 8 hours sleep a night, of course as individuals we are all slightly different, but we know when we wake up feeling well rested and ready for the day that we have achieved a good nights sleep.
